Joe Cole close to permanent Coventry deal

are hoping to secure the permanent signing of 34-year-old midfielder Joe Cole.

Cole has been on loan with the from Aston since October and has scored one goal in seven first team appearances.

Coventry manager recently spoke of his interest in making Cole’s loan move permanent, telling reporters,  “I think the player will help us but there’s a number of discussions to be had, not just with our club and the clubs concerned

“There’s no way we could pay similar sorts of salary levels so they’ll have discussions with their parent clubs and after that we need to have discussions with their advisors. So there’s lots of stuff to be talked about.”

Cole has had a glittering playing career, accumulating 56 caps, whilst playing for the likes of , and Lille.
