Gary Caldwell set to land Torquay keeper

are in advanced talks with young goalkeeper Dan Lavercombe from National League side Torquay United.

The 19-year-old is set to join for an undisclosed fee, one befitting his status as a highly-rated player having been on trial at and earlier this year.

The deal agreed will see Lavercombe return to Torquay on loan for the duration of the season.

He impressed last campaign by keeping three consecutive clean sheets after making his debut for the Gulls and has since taken over as first-choice at Plainmoor.
