Knee operation sidelines Crewe ace Jack Lankester

Crewe will have to do without winger Jack Lankester in the run-in.
The 25-year-old former Cambridge man went off midway through the second half of the 2-0 defeat at Bradford City two weeks ago and has since undergone knee surgery.
“I feel for Jack,” said boss Lee Bell. “He had the shot at Bradford that hit the post and he twisted his knee.
“He’s had a meniscus tear operated on, which these days are pretty routine. It’s gone really well, so we’re looking to get him back for pre-season. He’s a terrific player who makes such a difference to us.”
