Hartlepool part company with Ronnie Moore

Hartlepool United have parted company with manager Ronnie Moore following last night’s defeat to Stevenage.

Moore was appointed as Hartlepool manager in December 2015 and performed wonders to keep the club in the Football League last season.

However the board have decided that a fresh approach is now needed.

Hartlepool are currently sitting in 22nd place in League Two, three points above the relegation zone. They are also the lowest scorers in the division having only found the net 24 times this season.

In a statement on the club’s website Hartlepool chairman Gary Coxall. told fans, “This is an extremely difficult decision but one we feel is right for the Football Club.

“Ronnie has worked tirelessly to bring success to the Club during his time at The Vic and we thank him sincerely for those efforts and wish him well for the future.”

After an illustrious playing career, Moore took up management in 1996 with Southport and has since taken charge of six teams.

Arguably Moore’s most successful spell as a manager was his first stint in charge of Rotherham where he guided the Millers to back to back promotions from Division three to Division one between 1999 and 2001
