Karl Robinson has continued to assemble his backroom staff with his former MK Dons colleague Richie Barker joining the Addicks.
Barker, 41, worked with Charlton's recently appointed boss Robinson at Stadium:MK as his assistant for two years, and helped the Dons achieve promotion to the Championship in 2015.
He has also spent time as a manager with spells at Bury, Crawley and Portsmouth, and has a wealth of experience to help Robinson and Charlton climb the League One table.
He will be on the touchline for tonight's London derby between his new club and Millwall at The Den, and Robinson said about the appointment: “Richie is someone that I've had a promotion with, someone who has developed players alongside me and he knows who I am, so it gives that bit of solidarity to what I'm trying to do here.
“I came in on my own, which is a bit different, because I believe we have the support staff here to be successful but once Richie became available over the last 24 hours, I wanted to act to get him here.
“He's a football person, he knows the league and has worked with a few of our players before. He jumped at the opportunity to join us.”
