Vincent Tan pledges to make Cardiff debt free

Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan has announced that he plans to turn the £68 million he is currently owed by the club into equity and make the Bluebirds debt free by 2021.

He made the announcement at a Q and A at the Cardiff City Stadium today.

Tan bought Cardiff City in 2010 and caused controversy by changing the club’s colors from blue to red, however he eventually backtracked on the decision at the start of last year.

As well as owning Cadiff, Tan owns a network of foreign clubs including, KV Kortrijk in Belgium and FK Sarajevo in Serbia. He has also announced his investment in a Los Angeles franchise that is set to take part in MLS from 2018.

Cardiff are currently sitting in 9th place in the Championship. They face Charlton at The Valley on Saturday, where Tan is expected to attend his second game of the season.
