Jerome Thomas fails to win contract with Ipswich

Ipswich Town have repordadly decided not to offer Jerome Thomas a contract at the club.

The 32-year-old had been training with the Tractor Boys but manager Mick McCarthy has decided that his future lies elsewhere

Thomas came through the Arsenal academy before joining Charlton Athletic for £100,000 in 2004.

The midfielder was a real hit at the Valley and made over 100 appearences for the South London club before joining Portsmouth for an undisclosed fee in 2008.

Spells with West Brom, Leeds and Crystal Palace followed but Thomas has now been without a club since July last year.

Thomas was on trail with SPL club Hearts in the summer but the two parties failed to agree terms of a potential contract at Tyncastle.
