GAVIN Cowan is hoping his love for Shrewsbury Town inspires the League Two strugglers to avoid the drop.
Cowan, 44, spent two years as a player at Croud Meadow during the mid-noughties and has lived in Shropshire ever since, often watching games from the stands with his family.
After impressing as a manager with Non-League side Brackley Town, he replaced Michael Appleton ten days ago and called the job a “dream come true”.
