GEZA BIDS TO BE GRIMSBY HERO

GEZA Turi secured national hero status after scoring for the Faroe Islands against Croatia last month – and he now plans to become a fans’ favourite at Grimsby.
The 24-year-old midfielder fired the Faroes in front in Rijeka to keep the North Atlantic minnows’ unexpected hopes of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup alive in their final group game.
Croatia – the 2018 runners-up – eventually prevailed 3-1, but Turi’s place in Faroes folklore was firmly cemented.
