Doncaster Rovers secured promotion last season, bringing them back to their rightful place in League One. However, things haven’t gone smoothly so far this year with the club currently languishing in 19th in the table.
And manager Darren Ferguson has said that he may be forced into a radical change of personnel in an attempt to right the sinking ship.
Just one win in their last six league games simply isn’t good enough for a club of Doncaster‘s ambition, and Ferguson has sent a very clear message to his players following Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Bradford.
“It’s deja vu, really,” he told the Yorkshire Post, “We are not getting the basics right in both boxes. We are not giving ourselves a chance at the moment.
“Stop crosses, deal with the set pieces, deal with Wyke. We couldn’t do it and it cost us the game.
“I am not going to start thinking we are in a relegation battle at this stage. We have to start winning games, we know what’s costing us.
“At the end of the day, if we continue not winning games for the reasons that we are saying, personnel has to change, it’s as simple as that.”
Donny will be hoping for a more positive result tomorrow night when they host Sunderland Under-21’s in the Checkatrade Trophy., before taking on Southend in league action at the weekend.
