Chesterfield announce Branston departure ahead of manager unveiling

The Spireites have parted company with caretaker boss Branston, with new manager to be named tomorrow.

have today announced the departure of Director of Recruitment and Development , ahead of a scheduled unveiling of the club’s new manager tomorrow.

Branston has been acting in caretaker charge of the side since they dismissed on 16 September, and now the 38-year-old has followed the Scot out of the Proact Stadium.

Speaking to the ‘ official website about his departure, Branston said: “I have loved my time at Chesterfield and would like to wish the club and the new manager success going forward.”

Director and club secretary Ashley Carson also commented on the , saying: “I would like to thank Guy for his service and commitment whilst working for the club and for taking on the role of caretaker manager in our last two games.”

Chesterfield lost both of Branston’s games in charge, 1-0 at and 3-2 against .

Earlier today the club announced that their new management team would be revealed tomorrow. About this announcement, Carson said: “The new manager is focused on assembling his backroom team so that they all come in together.

“He is planning to bring in two people to assist him and both are currently employed elsewhere so we need to finalise everything before making an official announcement.”
