Byram opts for West Ham move

Leeds deal with Everton falls through, as Byram opts for Hammers

Sam Byram has pulled out of talks with after choosing to join United instead.

The United defender was unavailable for last Saturday’s against Yorkshire rivals Sheffield as he was in for contract talks with Everton’s representatives.

Yet without a West Ham bid being accepted, the 22-year-old is now pursuing a transfer to east London with Slaven Bilic declaring his interest.

Leeds owner has said: “I’m really sorry for Everton because they really acted like gentlemen, but Sam chose West Ham.”

Byram has made 143 appearances and it is believed West Ham have matched Everton’s bid of £3.7m.
