Robins departs Glanford Park following heavy defeat to Blackpool

have parted company with manager Mark after the 5-0 thrashing given to them by on Saturday.

Robins, who took charge of the in October 2014, has not been able to lift into the top half of the table this season with the team currently in 16th place. The same position Scunthorpe finished the 2014/15 season.

After the heavy defeat at Bloomfield Road Robins said: “”That can never happen again, that was really poor today….it’s left me feeling angry and that some players just can’t handle the situation.

“I take 100% responsibility for all results, that’s the nature of the business, I’m not shirking away from anything,” said the 46-year-old.”

United chairman Peter Swann also confirmed that assistant manager Ned Kelly would also be leaving Glanford Park in a brief statement made via the club’s website.

“We are sad to part company with Mark and Ned, but we have to think about the best interests of Scunthorpe United Club.

“We wish Mark and Ned all the best for the future. The club will provide a further update in due course.”
