Blackpool v Fulham
With nothing to play for, except pride, Blackpool could play the spoilers here as they host a Fulham side looking for maximum points before tricky games with promotion-chasing Middlesbrough and Norwich.
Perilously close to the drop-zone, the visitors’ fate is still undecided and Kit Symons will be hoping the league pass down a three-point deduction to fellow strugglers, Rotherham. A win here however, could render such a sanction irrelevant and the Craven Cottage side are 66/25 to win by one.
Watford v Birmingham
Watford will take to the field on Saturday knowing that, if Middlesbrough take anything from their trip to Norwich on Friday, they could end the weekend in an automatic promotion spot.
It’s not too difficult to imagine Slavisa Jokanovic’s side nailing down a top-two finish, especially when you consider all that’s left for them after this is a trip to Brighton and final outing at home to Sheffield Wednesday. So, with that in mind, a comfortable Watford win here certainly seems plausible at 53/10 to win by three.
Wolves v Ipswich
Three points is all that separates these two in the race for a promotion spot and, with both sides facing a relatively easy run-in, this represents a must-win for both camps.
Mick McCarthy‘s side arrive on the back of two home wins but have struggled on the road of late – a stat likely to boost confidence within the Wolves ranks. That said, the Tractor Boys won 2-0 here last season and we’ve got them at 9/4 to win, or 67/10 to clinch the points after drawing the first-half.
Port Vale v Preston
Preston will travel to Port Vale knowing they need to win if they are to stave off those chasing them for an automatic promotion spot.
Port Vale meanwhile, will welcome the high-fliers knowing they too need the three points as they attempt to open up some breathing space between themselves and those struggling to avoid relegation. With so much on the line we’d expect a cagey affair here with Simon Grayson’s side a tempting 10/3 to be level at half-time before going on to win the second half.
MK Dons v Leyton Orient
Leyton Orient have got their work cut out if they are to avoid being dragged further into the relegation scrap engulfing those around them.
Travelling to face the high-flying Dons this weekend, Orient’s season culminates with games against Rochdale, Sheffield United and Swindon – all teams competing for a play-off spot – and few would be surprised if they fail to take anything from their trip to Milton Keynes. Odds on for a home win, value can be found by backing the Dons to triumph from a -1 position at 27/25.
Crawley v Notts County
A win here would do both teams a world of good as they battle to avoid relegation to League Two.
Tied on 47 points with Leyton Orient in 20th, it is Crawley who find themselves playing catch-up due to a -26 goal difference (the second worst in the division).
Such a porous defence has led many to question if there is a way out of the trouble they find themselves in but, if they are to avoid the drop, their efforts will have to start in earnest this weekend. At 49/20, there is value in backing a draw here in addition to the over 2.5 total goals at 24/25.
