Oxford extend loan of striker Waring

United have managed to extend the loan of George Waring until the end of the season.

The striker had been due to return to the Potters following Saturday’s 3-0 victory over , in which the 21-year-old for 80 minutes until replaced by .

Waring is yet to find the back of the net in 7 appearances so far , but is set to play at in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy after extending his deal.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here,” Waring told the club’s website. “The lads have been great and there is such competition for places up front that it keeps you on your toes and gets the best out of everyone. The team are obviously chasing promotion and I’d love to be involved in that.

“Wembley is only a couple of weeks away now and I’d love to be involved but we have two important league games this weekend before we can even start to think about that game.

Oxford host on Good Friday where a win at the Kassam could take them 19 points clear of the and further in touch with promotion to .
