SAN JOSE SOLD BY KARANKA ‘PROJECT’ AT BLUES

BIRMINGHAM City boss Aitor Karanka says the signing of Mikel San Jose is a coup for the club.
The 31-year-old penned a two-year deal this week after leaving La Liga side Athletic Bilbao, having played there for 11 years.
The versatile veteran was a target for a number of clubs around Europe, but the Blues boss was delighted to get his man.
“Mikel is the kind of player who everyone knows about,” said Karanka of San Jose, who can play in either defence or midfield.
