PAUL Scholes a bottle job? That is the accusation being levelled at the former England man in some quarters after he quit Oldham.
The 44-year-old certainly wouldn’t be the first elite player to find the muck and nettles of lower league management too much like hard work. Manchester United team-mate Teddy Sheringham lasted just 33 games at the helm of Stevenage after failing to grasp the limitations of his players. Edgar Davids, the former Dutch international, didn’t even bother turning up to some Barnet games.
