POPE HAS ANSWERED PRAYERS

PORT Vale have received a pre-Christmas boost with the news that captain Tom Pope has signed a two-year contract extension.
The 33-year-old would have been out of contract at the end of the season, but has now signed on until 2021.
The powerful striker has hit the back of the net ten times so far this term and is just two goals off a century for the Valiants in all competitions over two spells.
He played for Crewe and Rotherham before his first spell with Port Vale. After a stint with Bury, he returned to Vale in the summer of 2017.
