Jay Stansfield was hailed by Birmingham City boss Chris Davies after he lit up St Andrew’s with the only goal to sink play-off chasing Charlton Athletic.
Stansfield’s 23rd-minute strike – his 20th of the season in all competitions – stretched City’s lead to nine points ahead of second-placed Wycombe Wanderers, with a game in hand.
