BARKER: SMITH’S EFFORTS EARNING REWARD

MICHAEL Smith’s “transformation” into one of League One’s top strikers is purely down to his own hard work, according to Rotherham’s assistant boss Richie Barker.
Smith, 30, joined the Millers from Bury for an undisclosed fee in January 2018 and enjoyed his best goalscoring season for the club last term, scoring ten goals in the Championship.
Heading into yesterday’s game against MK Dons, he had bagged nine in 13 matches, and Barker has been impressed.
