Wigan bring in Revell on loan

Alex Revell has joined on a loan deal from until January.

The 32 year-old moved to the from at the start of the year but has struggled to break into the side in recent weeks.

manager expressed his delight at bringing in Revell telling the club’s official website, “We’re delighted to finally get Alex. He’s somebody who I spoke to in the summer and we tried to get a deal done right up until the last few hours of the transfer window, but we couldn’t get it over the line then.

“He became available again on Sunday evening and we’ve worked very hard to get a deal over the line. I’ve got to thank the chairman and the chief executive for getting this deal done for us, because Alex is a quality addition to our squad.

“He brings us a lot of energy, he puts himself about because he’s big, strong and physical, and he’s been scoring goals throughout his career.

“He’s been playing at a higher level with Cardiff in the and he comes in fit and ready to play for us, so he adds great competition to an already talented group of strikers.”

Revell is likely to go straight into the Wigan squad for Saturday’s game at , replace Will Grigg who is on international duty with Northern Ireland – you can bet on the latest round of international fixtures with Matchbook.
