New boss Vitor Matos insists struggling Swansea City are not yet condemned to a relegation battle.
The 37-year-old Portuguese took charge on Monday and saw his new side lose 2-1 at home to Derby County just 24 hours later.
It was the Swans’ third successive Championship defeat and left them just two points above the drop zone heading into this weekend’s fixtures.
“I think I joined the club in a moment that probably is not the easiest,” admitted Matos, who left Portuguese second-tier side Maritimo after Swansea agreed to pay the 1m euro release clause in his contract.
