Liverpool defender Nat Phillips has joined Bournemouth on loan for the rest of the season.
The defenders last game for Liverpool was at the San Siro in December in the Champions League win over AC Milan. Since then, he has been sidelined with a broken cheek.
Phillips came to cult hero status at Anfield as he stepped in to the defence in the 2020/21 season when injuries depleted the Liverpool squad. Phillips helped Liverpool recover from six home games in a row to qualify for the Champions League.
The son of Bolton Wanderers legend Jimmy Phillips began his career at Bolton, before moving to Liverpool after a trial in 2016/17. After making his debut in 2019 in the FA Cup Merseyside derby before he spent the 2019/20 season at German side Vfb Stuttgart.
So far, he has made 17 appearances for the Reds, scoring one goal away at Burnley in May 2021.
Bournemouth sit in third place in the Championship as they aim to get promotion back to the Premier League. The initial loan fee of £1.5 million with an additional £250,000 promotion bonus.
