Montanier brings Traore to Forest

Former Arsenal and QPR defender Armand Traore has signed a three-year deal at Nottingham Forest.

Traore missed much of the last season through injury and left Loftus Road in the summer having not made an appearance since April 2015.

He spent five years at QPR and was part of the side that won promotion to the Premier League in 2014, coming off the bench in the play off final at Wembley.

The 26-year-old has Premier League and Uefa Cup experience from his spells with both Arsenal and Portsmouth, as well as spending a season in Italy with Juventus.

The Senegalese international is the fifth defender Philippe Montanier has added to his squad alongside Thomas Lam, Damien Perquis and Hildeberto Pereira but he was happy that the Traore deal had been finalised.

“He wants to play for Forest and that is the most important thing for me,” said Montanier

“We want him to come to help the team and we are happy that he wants to come here as well.

“I hope to add one or two more players still, because the Championship is very hard and a very long season.

“We have a few targets, but there is nothing more to announce at the moment. We want to strengthen and we have time to do that.”
