Preston bring in Simon Makienok on loan

North End have completed the signing of Danish international Simon Makienok on a season long loan from Serie A club Palmero.

The 25-year-old spent last season on loan with Athletic where he netted five goals in 37 appearances and played in both games against Preston.

The Lillywhites manager told the club’s official website, “I am delighted to add Simon Makienok to our striking options at the Club.

“His height, plus of course his international experience, brings us a different dimension to the squad and provides us further options at the top end of the pitch.”

Makienok made a name for himself at Danish side Brøndby IF where he scored 35 goals in 74 games before moving to Palmero for £2 million in 2014.

Unfortunately the striker struggled for first team opportunities in Italy and has only four times for the Rosanero so far.
