Ryan Mason made a winning start as West Bromwich Albion head coach, hailing his side’s fighting spirit after they battled past Blackburn Rovers at The Hawthorns.
Isaac Price struck in the 15th minute to seal a deserved win in Mason’s first game in charge, with debutant Aune Heggebo and Price both also going close to adding to the lead. Blackburn’s only serious threat came from Yuki Ohashi’s first-half effort, which was saved by Josh Griffiths.
