Lee Carsley is the early favourite to take charge at Derby County following the departure of Paul Warne.
Former Preston North End and Plymouth Argyle boss Ryan Lowe and current Leyton Orient manager Richie Wellens are also thought to be under consideration.
Carsley, 50, began his career at Derby and was part of the team that won promotion to the Premier League under Jim Smith in 1996.
He scored five goals in 166 games for the Rams before spells at Blackburn, Coventry, Everton and Birmingham.
