POWELL’S ABSENCE A ‘BLOW’

STOKE boss Michael O’Neill has lamented the loss of in-form midfielder Nick Powell to a cracked fibula.
The 27-year-old suffered the injury during the midweek defeat at home to Bournemouth and faces up to two months on the sidelines.
Powell has scored five goals in nine games for the Potters this season, and O’Neill said:
“Unfortunately, Nick has a crack in his leg and we’re looking at being without him for six to eight weeks.
“It’s a big blow as he started the season really well, but we have other options to call upon.”
