Rotherham sign Luciano Becchio

have completed the signing of Luciano Becchio on a contract until the end of the season.

The 32-year-old had been without a club since leaving Argentine side Atlético Belgrano and has been training with the for the past few weeks.

Becchio is held in high regard at Rotherham’s Yorkshire rivals after the striker scored 75 goals in 190 appearances for the club.

The Argentine has played for a host of clubs in Europe including Terrassa, Merida and Barcelona B and also spent four months on loan with Rotherham at the start of last season.

Becchio told the Rotherham official website: “I’m delighted to come back here and I hope to help the team to move up the table.

“I started training with the team two weeks ago and I feel confident. I know the group and I know the manager so I can’t wait to play the first game now.”

Rotherham are currently sitting just outside of the relegation zone in 21st place and face a trip to on Saturday.
