Bolton manager Neil Lennon has spoke of his hope that the financially stricken club will be able to avoid administration
Bolton were issued with a winding up petition in November and they were unable to pay their players last month. However talks are believed to be in motion with a number of interested parties concerning a potential takeover.
The Trotters are currently £172.9m in debt and financial adviser Trevor Burch has been drafted in to help the financial situation.
Lennon told BBC Radio Manchester, “Trevor seemed pretty confident there would be no administration, which is obviously great news, and we can hopefully get something done next month in terms of a takeover.
“It’s been a difficult period for everyone involved with the club – I’m hoping we’re not far away from something getting resolved in the next few weeks.”
Bolton are currently bottom of the Championship and have not won in 16 games. They did however show great fight to come back from two goals down to salvage a point against Charlton on Tuesday night.
Lennon’s side face manager-less Fulham at the Macron Stadium on Saturday.
