LIKE everybody in football, I was really surprised that Will Still didn’t succeed as Southampton’s head coach.
His coaching pedigree, his track record in France, the way he developed young players -all of it said he was an excellent appointment.
Personally, I still maintain he’d have got there given time but he just didn’t get the results, whereas Tonda Eckert did. That’s why the 32-year-old German is now the manager of Southampton and he isn’t.
