PRESTON may not have the biggest budget in the Championship – but manager Paul Heckingbottom says his summer sales pitch “captured the hearts” of prospective signings.
The Lilywhites handed permanent contracts to seven new players during the recent transfer window, including 28-year-old Northern Ireland midfielder Jordan Thompson, formerly of Stoke, and out-of-contract Charlton left-back Thierry Small, 21.
However, their total outlay was less than £2m, with the majority of that figure spent on 22-year-old Brighton defender Odeluga Offiah.
