MARK Hughes is hoping his experience of winning relegation scraps can keep embattled Carlisle United out of the National League.
The former Manchester United and Wales striker, who has managed over 500 games in the Premier League, was appointed on Thursday following the departure of Mike Williamson.
Lured from MK Dons in September to replace Paul Simpson, Williamson won just five of his 25 games at the helm and was sacked after a 5-1home defeat to Swindon left the Cumbrians rock bottom of League Two.
