Hull boss Slutsky says Bristol City are “not an extra special team”

Hull City manager Leonid Slutsky stated that Bristol City are “not an extra special team” ahead of The Tigers’ Championship clash against the high-flying Robins on Saturday.

Slutsky has made a poor start to life at the KCOM having won only four of his first 18 league games while Lee Johnson’s side are currently fifth in the Championship.

The former CSKA Moscow manager knows the qualities that Bristol City posses but insists they are beatable.

“We understand our strengths, weaknesses and how we will play. We don’t have that extra quality against our opponent but we can try and use our strengths what we have,” he told the Hull Daily Mail.

“Bristol City are a good team, they use two formations and they are very versatile and they do well away. But they are not extra special team and I think there could be three results,” he said.

The Tigers have only won three at home all season but Slutsky knows that if he is to lift the pressure on himself, his side must started capitalising on their home advantage.

“Home win is more important because at home we are more aggressive and we need to bring happiness to our supporters.

“Maybe we change formation and not situation with each player but tomorrow we will depend on our opponent.

“We need a win and in the last two matches we played normal quality, not all the game, but the target tomorrow is to start very aggressive and hopefully if we do things right we have chance to win,” he said.
