Exeter chief Paul Tisdale understands fans frustrations

Exeter manager Paul Tisdale says he understands the frustrations of some fans after Saturday’s infuriating 0-0 draw against Grimsby.

Ahead of the match at St James’s Park, a section of supporters voiced their concerns about the club’s form and called on their long-serving manager Tisdale, 43, to resign.

The Grecians are currently 23rd in League Two, struggling with a host of injuries throughout the squad and have only won twice at home since the turn of the year, and Tisdale said: “I’m not in denial and I understand the frustrations.

“But for as many frustrated comments we’re getting positive letters and emails of support coming through.”

Saturday was a frustrating day at the office for Tisdale and his men, who dominated the game for long spells and saw numerous good chances spurned, including Reuben Reid hitting the crossbar.

Nevertheless, despite their encouraging attacking performance, the Grecians failed to break the deadlock and Tisdale said: “We did everything but score.

“It probably doesn’t do the performance justice in terms of how much endeavour and purpose we put behind our attacking play.

“I picked as an attacking a line-up as I could and they responded with a very purposeful and determined performance.

“Maybe that’s what happens when you’re on a run as we’ve had at home and they wanted to score too much.”
