Blackstock Signs Leeds United Loan Deal

UNITED have drafted Nottingham striker Dexter Blackstock in on a three-month loan deal.

The 27-year-old came through the ranks at before paid £275,000 to secure his services in 2003.

He went on to make over 20 appearances for the Saints over a three-year stay down on the South coast, during which time he also spent loan spells with and County.

Blackstock joined for a fee of £500,000 in the summer of 2006 and was a success at Loftus Road, scoring 30 league goals in 89 starts.

He was loaned to towards the end of the 2008/09 season and scored twice in six games for the Championship club.

Forest handed him a permanent four-year deal ahead of the 2009/10 season and the frontman has gone on to make over 100 appearances for the City Ground outfit.

However, he has started just one game in the Championship this term and has now been sent to Leeds to get some game time under his belt.

Leeds boss Brian McDermott is excited by the prospect of having the Antigua and Barbuda international at Elland Road.

Speaking to the club’s website,  he said: “I’ve known Dexter for a long time, being brought up in . I’m really pleased we’ve managed to secure his services.

“He’s a really good age for a striker and I’m sure he has many good years in front of him. We are all really looking forward to working with him.”
