Latics sack former Blackburn and Birmingham midfielder after four months in charge

manager David Dunn has been sacked after four months in charge at Boundary Park.

Dunn’s tenure comes to an end after 1 win in 10 games, leaving them in 22nd position with two fewer victories this season than fellow strugglers United and .

The  brought you that the hierarchy had began their search for a potential suitor to fill Dunn’s shoes as early as last (6 January).

The board are expected to announce the result of the search for Dunn’s successor within 24 hours.

The new boss will be their third manager of the season after the former midfielder took up the role of interim head coach following Darren Kelly’s dismissal in September 2015.

Oldham chairman Simon Corney said after relieving Dunn of his duties: “I would like to place on record my thanks and gratitude to David for his tireless efforts over the past four months under what have been extremely difficult circumstances and wish him all the best for the future. He retained his dignity at all times and his hard work and dedication has been commendable.”

Corney also parted company with assistant manager Dean Holden and first-team coach Keith .
