My big wish for 2023 is to see our country bounce back from its disappointing World Cup outcome and learn some lessons.
Despite the structural overhaul and Academy Investment, we still haven’t won that elusive international silverware.
I can’t help feeling that we’ll be at our best when we fight for the right to win football matches without distracting ourselves onto political matters.
Just as Marcus Rashford became distracted by other issues, so too did our team in Qatar. In my view.
Back to basics is never a bad motto...
