Chuba Akpom’s berth at the summit of the Championship scoring charts is astounding, not least to Neil Warnock and Chris Wilder.
Both men would have jettisoned the £3m striker given an opportunity, with Warnock openly admitting that he was surplus to requirements and Wilder spending much of last summer vainly searching for new recruits while Akpom trained with the U21s.
