Sander Berge is a player who, at times, looks like he’s smoked a spliff 20 minutes before kick-off.
He doesn’t run so much as float. When he takes possession, it’s as if his mind is contemplating the cosmos.
So ponderous is the Norwegian on the ball that you almost wonder if he’s noticed the opposition at all; he invariably looks surprised when some excitable midfield ratter clatters into his ankles.
It’s an illusion, of course. Berge may look distracted, but he’s a midfielder of outstanding grace and quality, whose ostensible disinterest is belied...
