Graham Westley

Graham has been a columnist for The FLP for many years after ‘graduating’ into the Football League as a National League championship-winning manager in 2010. He offers an experienced managerial insight on issues across the EFL having enjoyed over 900 games in the dugout. Graham cut his managerial teeth with Kingstonian at the age of 28 and came to national prominence when his Farnborough Town team beat Football League opposition to land an FA Cup fourth round tie against Arsenal at Highbury in 2003. He began the first of four spells in charge of Stevenage in 2003. In his second stint at the helm, having lost out in two play-off campaigns, Graham led Boro to back-to-back promotions from the National League to League One (2009-10 & 2010-11) as well as FA Trophy glory at Wembley. In the memorable 2010-11 season, Boro also knocked Premier League Newcastle out of the FA Cup, triumphing 3-1. Graham has also managed Preston North End, Peterborough United, Newport County and Barnet. He holds a UEFA Pro Licence and a Master’s Degree and is the author of The Atelier Formula, in which he sets out his performance management and personal development philosophy.
