Aston Villa complete Snodgrass signing on season-long loan

Aston Villa have announced the signing of experienced midfielder Robert Snodgrass on a season-long loan from West Ham United.

has further bolstered his ranks at with the signing of West Ham midfielder Robert Snodgrass on a season-long loan.

The Villains beat the likes of Sunderland and to the signing, after Snodgrass was told he didn’t feature in Hammers boss Slaven Bilic’s plans – just six months after the club signed him.

The move reunites Snodgrass with his former manager , and continues a career north of the border that has also stops at and City.

Snodgrass spoke to Villa’s official website about his happiness at the move: “I am delighted to join.

“I have had offers from other clubs but it was an easy decision to come here. You see the name Aston Villa with all its history, tradition, fanbase and it’s a place you want to come to.

“Seeing it in the Championship doesn’t look right. I want to be part of that journey back up to the . I am raring to go.”

Snodgrass represents Bruce’s fifth permanent signing of the summer window, joining new recruits Glenn Whelan, Ahmed Elmohamaday, John Terry and Chris Samba. Villa have also made two loan signings in the form of Josh Onomah from Tottenham and Sam Johnstone from .
