Mason swaps Wolves for Brewers until January

Burton Albion have secured the signature of Wolves’ Joe Mason, with the striker moving on loan to the Brewers until January 2.

Albion have strengthened their attacking options by bringing in former striker Joe Mason on loan from until January 2.

The 26-year-old has struggled to settle at Molineux since his arrival in January of last year, and will now be hopeful of reigniting his career at the Pirelli Stadium.

In the wake of record signing Liam Boyce’s potentially season-ending knee injury, boss Nigel has been actively pursuing reinforcements.

Last season’s loanee Cauley Woodrow chose a temporary switch to over a return to the club, but Clough is happy nonetheless about his increased options.

“We need goals and we are now building up other options. Now we have Joe, Lucas Akins, Sean Scannell, Luke Varney and Marvin Sordell,” he told Burton’s official website.

“It wasn’t so much a case of missing out on Woodrow, we were making enquiries about Joe at the same time and we are delighted to get a deal done until January.”

Mason said: “I came to watch the game against on Friday and I was impressed with what I saw and now I’m really happy to be here and for it all to be signed up.”
