Derby’s Tom Ince close to joining Huddersfield

Derby County’s attacking midfielder Tom Ince is nearing a move to the Premier League with recently promoted Huddersfield Town.

The exciting wideman, 25, has been the subject of intense transfer speculation since the window has opened, with the Rams reportedly rejecting a bid in the region of £7m from the Terriers two weeks ago.

However, David Wagner is clearly keen on Ince, a former England under-21 star who has experience in the top-flight with Crystal Palace and Hull, and a bid in the region of Derby’s £10m valuation looks to have secured his services.

Ince joined Derby for a club record fee of £4.75m in July 2015, making his move to the club permanent after a successful loan spell from the Tigers, and he has scored 38 goals in 115 appearances.

Meanwhile, the top-flight new boys have today confirmed the permanent signing of Australian midfielder Aaron Mooy for a club record fee, after he starred in their promotion campaign last season, and manager David Wagner has signed a two-year contract extension.
