Garner set for Rangers medical

striker Joe Garner is expected to have a medical at Rangers ahead of joining the Scottish giants.

Garner, 28, was omitted from the Lilywhites’ squad for their 1-0 defeat at home to on Tuesday night, and manager has revealed he expects the forward to have a medical in Glasgow in the coming days.

Earlier in the week, Grayson stated the player was free to join Rangers after they made a bid and he said: “I’ve said all along that we didn’t have to sell him or want to but when the bid came in it’s only fair to ask a player.

“Joe stressed all along that he wanted to pursue the option of going to Rangers. It’s disappointing but it’s Joe’s decision.

“I expect him to have a medical in the next 24 hours or so.”

Garner, a boyhood fan of the club, joined Preston in 2013, and has made 127 appearances, scoring 49 goals.

He fired them to promotion via the in 2015 and scored his 100th career goal last season, in a 2-1 victory over at Deepdale, but now looks set to join Mark ‘s side.
