Preston striker Joe Garner is expected to have a medical at Rangers ahead of joining the Scottish giants.
Garner, 28, was omitted from the Lilywhites' squad for their 1-0 defeat at home to Derby on Tuesday night, and manager Simon Grayson has revealed he expects the forward to have a medical in Glasgow in the coming days.
Earlier in the week, Grayson stated the player was free to join Rangers after they made a bid and he said: “I've said all along that we didn't have to sell him or want to but when the bid came in it's only fair to ask a player.
“Joe stressed all along that he wanted to pursue the option of going to Rangers. It's disappointing but it's Joe's decision.
“I expect him to have a medical in the next 24 hours or so.”
Garner, a boyhood fan of the club, joined Preston in 2013, and has made 127 appearances, scoring 49 goals.
He fired them to League One promotion via the play-offs in 2015 and scored his 100th career goal last season, in a 2-1 victory over Charlton at Deepdale, but now looks set to join Mark Warburton's side.
