Reading to release Hal Robson-Kanu

Reading have confirmed that Wales striker Hal Robson-Kanu will leave the club when his contract expires in June.

The 27-year-old, who is expected to part of Chris Coleman’s national side at this summer’s European Championships, has found the net 30 times during his nine year stay at Reading.

Robson-Kanu joined Reading at the age of 15 and successfully progressed through the club’s academy structure to make his first team debut on the first day of the 2009-10 season.

The Wales international also enjoyed loan spells at Southend and Swindon during his time as a Reading player.

Robson-Kanu has confirmed that will concentrate on this summer’s European Championship finals before finding a new club.

He told BBC Wales, “No one knows what the future holds and I’ve got a massive summer ahead of me personally so I want to focus on the Euros,”

Reading also announced that defender Anton Ferdinand and striker Simon Cox will be leaving the club this summer.
