TWO decades ago, Ian Watson was working in an Asda warehouse and playing part-time for ninth-tier Shildon.
Today, he is the man tasked with spearheading Rochdale’s return to the EFL after a three-year exile in Non-League.
It’s been a remarkable rise for the 40-year-old, who just three months ago was managing South Shields in National League North - but one he has worked for his entire adult life.
