WHEN Sergej Jakirovic became Hull City manager in June, one of his first acts was to plead for the return of Joe Gelhardt.
Stagnating at Leeds and desperate for minutes, the 23-year-old forward had joined the Tigers on loan last January and scored five times to inspire a late scramble to Championship safety.
