I’ve long been a critic of transfer windows, particularly in the lower leagues.
One man’s medicine is another man’s poison and I accept that. But transfer windows do not really benefit smaller clubs or, more importantly, a mass of players.
Let’s examine just a few scenarios: 1. A managerial change takes place in early September after a really difficult start to the season.
In this situation, players at a club who fitted one manager’s style simply won’t fit with his replacement.
